Hands, sourdough and bread

Susi Bálint is a Food Photographer, Writer & Researcher who delves into culinary stories through flavors, colors, and aromas. After completing a sourdough course at our bakery, she suggested collaborating. Here is an impression, a visual narrative about hands, sourdough and bread.
Hands in the bakery

The human opposable thumb is longer, compared to finger length, than any other primate thumb. This long thumb and its ability to easily touch the other fingers allow humans to firmly grasp and manipulate objects of many different shapes. The human hand can grip with little or much strength and with fine control, so it can shape the dough, throw a ball,  or sign a name. It also allows humans to start and control a fire, a capacity that  changed the course of human evolution, allowing our ancestors to stay warm, cook food, ward off predators and venture into harsh climates.
